Mineral Overview
A mineral is an inorganic substance that is naturally occurring from the ground and usually has a crystalline structure. Many minerals are required for human life and human health. These are termed essential minerals and minerals, as a group, are one of the six groups of essential nutrients required for human life. Minerals have a wide variety of functions and may be utilized in the body for a large number of functions, or only a few selective functions.
